Hi friend! My name is Leydy McDonough. My husband and I have two girls, ages 3 & 6. We have lived in the country in middle TN since 2018. We have recently started getting into homesteading and started our homeschool journey last year in 2025.

I wanted to start this blog because my oldest daughter is autistic and also has a rare chromosome disorder which causes several developmental delays (I’ll post about that another time!), and that is one of the reasons we decided to homeschool and look into being a little more “crunchy”.

With her condition being so rare, and her being a special needs child, I wanted to share my experience with every day life, homeschooling and starting a homestead. Life in our home can be very hectic at times with it being a neurodivergent household, and I hope that I can help other moms in similar situations not feel so alone.
